Confidentiality logging for offshore legal intake support
Track who supplied intake information, how it was received, and where it was routed without making privilege or representation decisions.
Record the intake event
Capture the person’s stated identity, contact method, received date, matter reference if known, channel, and approved intake fields. Keep the original message or form linked to the factual log.
Mark access and routing
Record who received the information and which firm owner reviewed it. A support role should not forward sensitive details to an unapproved recipient or decide whether a communication is privileged.
Escalate the firm decision
Conflicts, urgent safety concerns, requests for advice, and unclear representation status go to the designated attorney or manager. Support staff preserve the record and avoid making promises about acceptance or timing.
