Client-consent record logs with offshore legal support
Track supplied consent records and missing confirmations while the firm decides what consent is required and whether work may proceed.
Record the supplied consent
Capture the matter, client or authorized person as identified by the firm, consent wording or source, date, channel, scope stated, and storage location. Preserve the original record.
Do not equate a message with approval
A question, acknowledgment, or partial reply may not answer the firm’s consent requirement. Mark the exact gap and avoid labeling a record approved unless the authorized reviewer did so.
Hold the work gate
Send missing, expired, conflicting, or scope-limited consent records to the matter owner. Counsel or the firm decides whether the task can start, continue, or needs a new request.
