Source checks for a legal support knowledge base
Keep internal task guidance tied to approved examples and current owners without presenting a checklist as legal advice.
Identify the instruction source
Record the workflow name, owner, version, approval date, source document, and review contact for each instruction. A page without an owner should not quietly become the team standard.
Separate procedure from judgment
Write the mechanical steps a support worker may follow and mark the questions that require counsel or manager review. Avoid turning examples into universal rules for every matter.
Review stale guidance
Flag conflicting versions, broken links, changed tools, and examples that no longer match the firm’s process. The owner approves edits, retirement, and communication of the new version.
