Court-notice logging for offshore legal support
Maintain a factual register of notices and orders while attorneys decide significance, deadlines, and required responses.
Capture the notice identity
Record court, matter, document title, docket or reference number, entry date, source, recipients, and the date received by the firm. Preserve the original notice link or file.
Separate recorded dates from legal deadlines
A support role can highlight a date stated in the notice and flag an unclear time zone or missing attachment. Counsel decides what deadline applies and whether action is required.
Make the handoff accountable
Assign the notice to the named attorney or docket owner, record the handoff time, and keep questions open until an authorized person closes them. Logging alone is not a legal response.
